There are many components to doing a pro job. One plan I found that succeeds in merging these is the Rohon Home Build (check it out on google) without a doubt the most incredible course i've heard of. Check out this awesome website.

Building a container home is not cheap, your base amount of money needs to be at least around $10 grand.. To start, you probably need at least $5000.00 minimum just to buy container, have it delivered and pay for the architecture plans that you must submit to the Building-dept just in order to obtain the vast permits that you need to build a house. Then theres foundation prep, sewage system cost from $7000-$15000 dollars. Electric pole hook-up and wiring at $5000.- $10,000. This is just the bare minimum which get lights, toilets and the physical address. Oh and only if you already own you land, if not add the cost of a plot of rural land cause city land is a lot expensive. Now time for insulation, windows and the framing out of the inside, more money. probably at least another $5000. The only way this can be completed cheaply is if you used it seasonly and unlike that of an common Rv set-up, if it's setting on wheels, a slab of concrete or the ground with no permanent attachment then you won't need a lot of the permits. And this is only if you do most the work yourself. If not, you must double all the above numbers accept the first $5000.00, so what was initially $23,000- -$32,000, now becomes $34,000-$64,000.00 (try get a loan for this, they'd laugh you out of the bank unless you have a good co-signer). But if you have the initial base money, you buy it, set if up, live in a cheap $300 RV for a year or 2 you, work on it, you will eventually complete it, all while paying out of pocket as you go. Now even if it's sitting on wheels without a septic hook-up, It now has monetary valve. now you get a loan to complete your dream container.

I'm not a tree hugging dirt worshiper but can you see how this idea threatens so so many infrastructure providers? I got rid of my satellite TV b/c it got too expensive. Half the channels were religion, infomercials, or something in which I had no interest. Could not pick and choose, so out w/ it all. Water? I've drunk from the same well 25 years. No ill effects. Electricity? The power production industry has fought solar and photovoltaic, and wind tooth and nail because they lose the means of production and distribution. I try to use cash b/c what I spend my wealth on isn't the govt's business. The military industrial banker crowd has too much to lose to let this get too far out of hand.

Spray foam is a bad idea. Check it out. If done wrong, you will get a sick house . Use Probex or something like that for a vapor barrier. I'm building one in a place w/ virtually no building code but Probex is an insulation that will reflect the heat and not let it enter the house. The biggest opposition you'll get is from people who've become wage slaves to a mortgage and a building and code enforcement department that will listen to the whining of the stick built slaves. If not them, building and zoning won't give you a certificate of occupancy. I first heard about this idea when a businessman said he'd built a house that could just be loaded on a boat or truck and go anywhere. These are known to negate the need for mortgages, hurricane insurance, fire insurance…..Living off the grid is where the system will get you. This idea and living off the grid will have the state up your tailpipe trying to prove you're a bad parent or they know that if the idea catches on, there won't be enough people paying for the grid and the state will try to charge you to be OFF of it. I have electricity but no water bill and no sewer bill. I live in a county, not a city and believe me I scream every time someone wants to annex my subdivision.
