I would say that you are correct in many of the statements made. However, insulation is a big deal. You can't just put up some loose batt with vapor barrier and not expect moisture to collect on the steel behind the insulation. Spray foam is the best because it prevents moisture on the steel. In reality, you are not going to live in a super cold area without a dehumidifier running full time.

Ironically, the house in the thumbnail isn't a container-built home at all, but a custom-built tiny home, easily seen elsewhere.

I assume the people building these container homes are not doing it for cost but rather chicness. There are many less expensive and better quality alternatives.

the truth is you can build a conventional structure for the same or less amount of money. The containers a re great for office or storage only.

I thought the strength of the shipping containers came from the corner posts and beams and that the sides didn't add much structural strength?

weld in I beams and go from there.

I concur with almost all of your advice, except for one very important factor which is very risky – when selecting a contractor, DO NOT select one just because they are enthusiastic while being inexperienced – those people are fooling themselves at your expense, and will cost you a lot of money in re-work, add a lot of frustration and risk to the project, and in worst circumstances abandon you altogether when you try to hold them accountable for their blunders. A good project plan is necessary BEFORE the first dollar is spent.

Also, the link about learning about different types of containers does not work.

Awful music – couldn't be bothered to do a voice over – just type text over the images – to top it off it's got typos. Very amateurish clip using bots…

Would love to have something like this on my property. Elevate it off the floor so a semi can pull up to it and be able to pack up my home and move it anywhere in the country.

There are several components to creating an amazing design. One plan I found which succeeds in merging these is the Rohon Home Build (check it out on google) definately the most helpful course i've heard of. Check out this super resource.
